eleventh whirlwind. VIDEO/ACTION. BACKDATED TO THE 3RD.

[ Welcome to a clearing a little ways away from House 56. This is the Airbending Gates clearing, and they're sort of visible in the background. There's a few trees, too, and the one nearest Ikki has Soren in it. Ikki's sitting crosslegged, a box on the ground in front of her. Her journal's propped up against something - a rock? It's just not clear - to leave her hands free.

After she's sure the thing is on, she grins. ]

Hey! This is Ikki! I'd say you know that already but you might not because I don't know everyone and anyway it's New Feather season so there are probably lots of people I don't know. I guess those people don't have to listen to this because I dunno if they'd care although I'll answer questions if they want? Oh, not that ANYONE has to listen to this but I mean I know I listen to things that look most interesting to me and this might not look like that to some people. [ As always, this is all in one breath. Her mile-a-minute chatter has yet to change. ]

Anyway! Guess what?? Tomorrow? Is the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL ...Not that I mind school, Sifu Raine, Sifu Layton! But that means every day I'll be free! Well except in mornings with grandpa and then sometimes with Rapunzel and Lee and the art club and you know everything else I do but it's still pretty great! I think I'm allowed to be excited about it because that's what you DO when school gets out, right? I mean I never went to a proper one at home because I learned from Daddy at the Island but I talked to some of the kids from the City and I think that's what you do. Oh, and the day after tomorrow is Katara's birthday, which is also pretty exciting! Everyone should say hello to her then, okay?

[ Another pause for breath. Surprisingly, she does actually have to breathe. ...Today is a year since arrival, and apparently that means... ] Today I'm going to share something special with you all. [ That's said as though she's telling a secret, although this isn't at all filtered. ] The secret is inside this box! This box was something Katara and I got, last year. A long time ago! Inside it are very, very special things! Normally I don't show ANYONE it, because that's how you keep secrets, but I'll show you all today. These are my treasures!

...That is, I'll show you if you ask! And then, if you ask, I'll tell you about one of my treasures that you get to see. You have to pick one! And if you pick the RIGHT one, I'll give you a present. [ Because apparently this is a game? Yes, that seems to be the case. ] If you don't get it right, then you don't get a prize!

Oh, and if you're new and listened to all that, you should drop by the school on the fourteenth, 'cause that's the next Art Club meeting and we're always recruiting!

WRONG! [ That's at a high volume, sorry, Lee! But she's not upset about it, giggling instead. ] You don't win a prize!

...But you do win a story! This is one of my favorite stories, too.

Once upon a time, about a year ago, there was a little girl! And when she first got here, she was reallllly hungry, because she hadn't eaten at home before she'd left because she didn't know she was gonna be somewhere else all of a sudden because actually who plans for that sort of thing? Well I guess you might but that's not part of the story, SO.

When she got here, one of the people she met was someone she'd heard about all her life! He was her uncle. Or actually he was her great-Uncle, but that's longer than uncle so we'll go with uncle. [ Ignore the part where she herself just made it longer than it needed to be with that explanation. ] He took her to the grocery store, and asked her what she wanted! He said she could pick anything. And she asked for a candy, but he said he had something even better.

And then he got her a chocolate bar! And she'd never ever had chocolate before and it was amazing and the BEST THING ever and fantastic and delicious and she ate the whooooooole thing although he didn't let her have a second one!

And then she kept some of the wrapper 'cause that was something she didn't want to forget about. And she got a box with Katara, and put it in there!

And she was me! If you didn't get that part, that's how it is.

[ See? One of her favorites. So even if he guessed wrong, Lee got a pretty awesome story, right? ]

I... I failed. [He says as he bows to the journal, defeated. He pauses for a moment, manages to keep himself from crying and composes himself... at least in a relative sense.]

I appreciate that story, Ikki-chan. It is... a very delightful tale of youth.

[ SORRY, LEE... ]

Yep! But it's okay that you did. It was fun getting to tell about the chocolate bar! Uncle Sokka's away right now, so he wouldn'tve been able to pick it anyway.

[He then leaps to his feet and picks up the journal. He starts to run across the village at an incredible speed.]

I see. So your uncle is away. I shall run three hundred laps across the village as punishment for my failure! So you have a taste for chocolate?

[ ...SHE...HADN'T MEANT TO MAKE ANYONE RUN LAPS... ]

Um, if you want to, I guess! ...If you tried again, would you do even more laps for getting it wrong? [ Because wow Lee that's a little intense for a guessing game. ] And yeah, I really like it! I also like soda pop. The cherry kind!

Not necessarily! I can think up of suitable alternative tasks. [Not intense enough if you ask him!] And that is refreshing to hear.

Well, in that case...I'll give you two more chances! But after that, you REALLY lose! Until the game's over, and then I'll tell you what the right answer was.

Very well! The options... Are they the same?

Yep!

[ She opens the box again, to the same display. ...But takes out the gold paper, setting it aside for the moment, on her knee. ]

Except the one you already guessed, of course!

Ah! I was certain it would be correct this time. Very well, then... I choose the green fabric! [Because green fabric always wins.]

[ ...LEE, PLEASE. It's the same treasure, with the same story! But before Ikki can berate him over this, he picks...

Right! ]

CORRECT! [ And she will take the scrap of fabric out of the box. It's not much bigger than the palm of her hand, actually. ] This is the story about the green fabric!

Once upon a time, a few weeks ago, a little girl saw this fabric in the meeting of the art club, which she was a member of 'cause everyone should be a member of the art club and also she was a copresident and so she kinda had to be a member because it wouldn't make any sense at all if she weren't. Anyway, they were doing their projects and all the stuff was out, and she saw this and thought it was pretty and so she took it home with her.

Also, it reminded her of something important! And this story about the green fabric is actually about that story. And that story goes like this:

Once upon a time - again, so it's like TWICE upon a time, I guess - there was a little girl. And one day during New Feather season she heard someone posting and so she went to listen to it and the person who was posting was a boy who was dressed all in green just like this green. [ She holds up the fabric. ] He said he was Konoha's Beautiful Green Beast, and for a while they talked about his home and stuff, 'cause the little girl knew a bit about that place from someone else.

BUT!! [ VOLUME... ] But, while they were talking, he was actually falling from the sky! Because when he came to the weird new place, he showed up in midair, reaaaaaally high up! And he kept saying he'd find a way down, but she got a bit worried. So she went to go and find him, 'cause she said maybe she could get him down okay, if she did something she'd seen her Daddy do a lot of times at home.

And when she found him, she bent air under him, and he was okay! [ in one of many timelines. ]

And that's the story of the fabric, and also how you and I first met!

[He does a wild cheer at being correct.]

Yes! I have succeeded this time. As my reward... I will run 300 extra laps! [He beams wildly and speeds up.]

THANK YOU! [Did you say something about volume?] That is a well-told story of such tender memories. To think... that was almost a year a go. The springtime of youth truly is a quick season! But, Ikki-chan, speaking of that fabric... I believe that your time is long overdue!

...Wait, wasn't that your punishment, too?

[ SOMETIMES SHE JUST DOESN'T GET YOU.

But moving on! ]

My time for what? [ She leans forward, curious. ]

Not exactly! There is a difference, Ikki-chan. And in the bittersweet nature of youth, reward and punishment can intermingle seemlessly.

Your time has come for your own green fabric! I shall give you your own suit!

I think your reward should be like a cupcake, that's more delicious.

You are correct on that count. Perhaps I should treat myself later!

Yes... like mine! However, it will be in your own size!

You should! Rapunzel makes the BEST cupcakes.

Well, yeah, 'cause otherwise I wouldn't be able to move around in it really.

I... I do enjoy her cupcakes! They are excellent and youthful!

Right? You should have her teach you to make them, too, and then make some for me!

[ logic. ]

Maybe I shall! I know that if I do take some lessons, you will definitely be the first person I shall serve them to!

I think you should take some! It's really fun to cook things.

Fun, you say? It's certainly a great reason! Perhaps it could even be as fun as training!
