[ Welcome to a clearing a little ways away from House 56. This is the Airbending Gates clearing, and they're sort of visible in the background. There's a few trees, too, and the one nearest Ikki has Soren in it. Ikki's sitting crosslegged, a box on the ground in front of her. Her journal's propped up against something - a rock? It's just not clear - to leave her hands free.

After she's sure the thing is on, she grins. ]

Hey! This is Ikki! I'd say you know that already but you might not because I don't know everyone and anyway it's New Feather season so there are probably lots of people I don't know. I guess those people don't have to listen to this because I dunno if they'd care although I'll answer questions if they want? Oh, not that ANYONE has to listen to this but I mean I know I listen to things that look most interesting to me and this might not look like that to some people. [ As always, this is all in one breath. Her mile-a-minute chatter has yet to change. ]

Anyway! Guess what?? Tomorrow? Is the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL ...Not that I mind school, Sifu Raine, Sifu Layton! But that means every day I'll be free! Well except in mornings with grandpa and then sometimes with Rapunzel and Lee and the art club and you know everything else I do but it's still pretty great! I think I'm allowed to be excited about it because that's what you DO when school gets out, right? I mean I never went to a proper one at home because I learned from Daddy at the Island but I talked to some of the kids from the City and I think that's what you do. Oh, and the day after tomorrow is Katara's birthday, which is also pretty exciting! Everyone should say hello to her then, okay?

[ Another pause for breath. Surprisingly, she does actually have to breathe. ...Today is a year since arrival, and apparently that means... ] Today I'm going to share something special with you all. [ That's said as though she's telling a secret, although this isn't at all filtered. ] The secret is inside this box! This box was something Katara and I got, last year. A long time ago! Inside it are very, very special things! Normally I don't show ANYONE it, because that's how you keep secrets, but I'll show you all today. These are my treasures!

...That is, I'll show you if you ask! And then, if you ask, I'll tell you about one of my treasures that you get to see. You have to pick one! And if you pick the RIGHT one, I'll give you a present. [ Because apparently this is a game? Yes, that seems to be the case. ] If you don't get it right, then you don't get a prize!

Oh, and if you're new and listened to all that, you should drop by the school on the fourteenth, 'cause that's the next Art Club meeting and we're always recruiting!

You can! And Katara won't mind. She helped me pick out the box, but I'm the one who filled it up.

[Hello, pirate here, very interested.] I love games. And treasure! Okay tell me about them, please.

Here's how it works! I'll show you them, you pick one, and you get a story! ...Or if you pick right, I'll give you a prize! Ready, Marco?

[The Spirit peers at the objects in the box for quite some time, picking out each one and debating whether or not to make it his choice. Some of it doesn't appear to be particularly special or appealing, though he supposes it must be to Ikki from what she said. A few things do catch his interest... the folded paper figures for one, the shell and the flower...

...then there was that drawing. The arrangement is oddly familiar though he can't quite make out all of it. He can't be certain if he's seeing what he thinks he is.]

What is that drawing? A map? Did you draw it yourself?

[ She bursts into immediate, gleeful laughter. ]

Correct! On all three, and also you won! That's the right answer! For you, anyway. Want to hear the story that comes with it? That's only half of the prize, 'cause if you find me later, I'll give you what you won.

[ Hint: it will be a woven-flower crown, and a crayon picture of Eley himself. ]

This is newer than some of the other things. And I drew it myself, but it was so I wouldn't forget about it -- but that's not where this story starts! The story that goes with this treasure starts before that. Once upon a time -- [ Because that is how any proper story starts, right? She's learned that, here. ] -- there was a spirit of the wind, and he was hurt. So he asked people to pray for him. Do you know this story?

[ He probably does, since that's how they met. ] This treasure is from after that, after lots of people agreed to pray for him. One of them was a little girl and once upon a time at another time, she asked him about the map he'd made. And this is what he showed her, and all the things he told her.

[ It's a treasure. ]

Ikki-chan! Are you presenting a challenge? I must wholeheartedly accept!

Ah this is difficult. I kind of want to hear stories about all of them, eh?

[Muses it over. The picture he's pretty sure is from Vivi. The origami of course catches his attention, as do the the stickers, and the sea glass. The map he believes is of her world, and that story interests him less. Eventually he nods his head to himself and points.]

Tell me about the orange peel please!

[ ...OH, YOU'RE GOOD, MARCO. :T Geeze, she hasn't managed to fool anyone yet! But that is, in and of itself, pretty darn cool. There's an instant grin at the choice. ]

Got it. You win! But before I tell you the prize-story...wanna try one more time? What's the second thing you would pick, if you could?

Oh, and you can pick up what you won from me later. [ It will be a blue-flower crown, and a crayon drawing of bird!Marco with Soren. ]

WRONG! [ That's at a high volume, sorry, Lee! But she's not upset about it, giggling instead. ] You don't win a prize!

...But you do win a story! This is one of my favorite stories, too.

Once upon a time, about a year ago, there was a little girl! And when she first got here, she was reallllly hungry, because she hadn't eaten at home before she'd left because she didn't know she was gonna be somewhere else all of a sudden because actually who plans for that sort of thing? Well I guess you might but that's not part of the story, SO.

When she got here, one of the people she met was someone she'd heard about all her life! He was her uncle. Or actually he was her great-Uncle, but that's longer than uncle so we'll go with uncle. [ Ignore the part where she herself just made it longer than it needed to be with that explanation. ] He took her to the grocery store, and asked her what she wanted! He said she could pick anything. And she asked for a candy, but he said he had something even better.

And then he got her a chocolate bar! And she'd never ever had chocolate before and it was amazing and the BEST THING ever and fantastic and delicious and she ate the whooooooole thing although he didn't let her have a second one!

And then she kept some of the wrapper 'cause that was something she didn't want to forget about. And she got a box with Katara, and put it in there!

And she was me! If you didn't get that part, that's how it is.

[ See? One of her favorites. So even if he guessed wrong, Lee got a pretty awesome story, right? ]

[Eley listens intently to her words and at first he seems a little confused. But the more she spoke, the more it became clear where this was going. He gives a nod.]

Yes, I remember. I needed to recover my strength... You prayed for me, something I am eternally thankful for.

Then we met at the fair and you asked about my world. So... you drew the map I made to remember what I said?

[It surprised him, but it also touched him that someone would care enough about his world to remember it. He was a being tied to that world after all. As long as people kept it in their thoughts, perhaps there would always be hope should things go awry in the future.

Oh, and then there was the matter of the prize.]

Where exactly will I find you?

I think I'd kinda love to see a treasure, Ikki.

[ There's continued ginning, as she nods. ]

Yeah! I didn't want to forget about it. Because you told me about it, I should try to remember about it, right? Thanks for that, by the way! I think the more people who know about your home, the more it's here, right?

[ Oh, finding her! ]

I'm over by the airbending gates! You know where House 56 is? It's a bit away from there in a clearing. I can draw you a map if you need!

[That is adorable, and he's thrilled.]

I... I failed. [He says as he bows to the journal, defeated. He pauses for a moment, manages to keep himself from crying and composes himself... at least in a relative sense.]

I appreciate that story, Ikki-chan. It is... a very delightful tale of youth.

[Aang shows up at the air gates in his royal attendant's uniform. He smiles and gives a bow as he approaches.]

Little Miss Princess! How about I try my own version of the game?

NOPE! Though I'll tell you one of those stories after this one. And if you come find me, you still get a prize for guessing right the first time!

[ Ikki picks up the orange peel scrap, showing it off to the journal. It's...really just a scrap of an orange peel. Nothing special. Surely this isn't a treasure? ]

This is a story about the orange peel! It takes place once upon a time, last year...around November. That day, the orange grove around the Pirate's house needed harvesting. So a little girl and her grandfather and her bird best friend went to help out, and so did a bird-pirate. When they got there, they challenged one another to a race!

That is, the little girl and the bird-pirate did. To see who could harvest the most oranges! ...They ended up not really picking a winner 'cause they got distracted and friends do that sometimes, but after that, the little girl got to take home a few oranges, and one of them was one of the ones they'd ended up picking together. And so later she asked about how to dry a bit of the peel and keep it, and someone helped her do it, and she put it in the box she got with Katara.

And that's the story of the orange peel!

[ SORRY, LEE... ]

Yep! But it's okay that you did. It was fun getting to tell about the chocolate bar! Uncle Sokka's away right now, so he wouldn'tve been able to pick it anyway.

Hmm. [ she makes a show of biding her time, although she's long ago selected an item. or three items, really. because she cheats: ] The origami animals. Tell me about them.

[ after all, origami is a hobby of hers -- taken up since arriving here in luceti. ]

[He laughs softly.] Friends do get distracted sometimes, ne? How did you manage to keep it preserved like that?

Grandpa! Of course you get to try it. But this is really hard, okay?
