[ Strange. Definitely very strange. Ikki knew the room, because it was hers, but it wasn't right. Things weren't there, or were cleaned away, and although she searched around for it, she couldn't find her box or her clothes or even her sister. No matter how hard she tried to think about it, she couldn't really make things mesh in her head.

...Oh well! Humming softly to herself, Ikki opens the journal, going to her favourite setting - video. She doesn't look overly worried, although she's more or less baffled - she fully expects someone will find her and explain things, or at least tell her where to go. ]

Jinoraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! D'you have my things? Or does someone else? 'Cause I can't find 'em. Or you, so I'm using this, although I dunno the chances of you reading this book instead of another book. [ Pouting. It would be so much easier if her sister weren't constantly buried in books. At least there's a very good chance some of her other family members will see this. At least, that's the entire plan - so far as Ikki plans anything. ]

Y'know, I could have really important news and you'd miss it 'cause I can't find you! I mean, I don't. I think. I mean, I guess I sorta do, but not ACTUALLY and if you'd read this you'd probably KNOW it already. I mean, I can probably think of some! But anyway my POINT is that now I'm gonna have to run over to the library 'cause that's probably where you are, and if you aren't I'm basically gonna have to run around everywhere instead 'cause maybe you decided to go sit and read on a bench but how do I know if you did, you know? And it's not like I know all the little places you could be or might be 'cause I'm not totally sure about that right now and anyway this is a bigger area to check than usual which is ANNOYING 'cause I don't know where you are for SURE and you might not be where I think you are and you might not even be where I don't think you are, and that gets CONFUSING.

[ Apparently that was all on one breath, because she has to pause to take another, still gesturing vaguely with her hands. ] Or! I guess I'll go check for my clothes first, 'cause the dress is nice an' all but at least that'd be some of my things down, I guess? An' that's on the way anyway, so I guess that works! But! If you're not here, then you might be there? I mean, 'cause where else would you sleep? [ She's not even really talking to her sister any longer, if she ever was. Hrm. ] 'Kay! So I'll go get my clothes, and then go back and check if you're at the other house. [ Aaaand that's a wrap. Video function ended. Feel free to hit her up in journals/on the path of House 58 > shops > House 56, if you want. ]

[ And post picking up her clothing, Ikki wanders back to her second household - which was the first, a little while back - to locate any of the relatives she hadn't managed to find to begin with. She does not actually knock on the door, but will just go inside and track down anyone who is there. And also probably take an apple or something to eat. ]

[-that voice. He never thought he'd heard it again.

And there is was, happily going on as if she had never left. He looked towards Katara incredulously before looking towards the book. He didn't yet dare to actually reach for it. But he found himself breathing her name.]

Ikki?

[Katara has nothing to say. And even if she did, she probably couldn't get it passed the heart that was suddenly stuck in her throat. She just grabs hold of Aang's journal and peers at it, her forehead nearly touching his in order to get a better view of the screen.]

[ Oh, good. Relief flashes across Ikki's face before being buried with her usual cheerful grin. ] Hiiiiii, grandpa, Katara.

[ She's not certain what she's supposed to say, really, or how to ask everything she needs to ask - Jinora didn't go back, did she? - so she just sort of shrugs a little. ] I need to go get my clothes again, 'cause I'm in the dress again, but I dunno if it's the same new dress or if it's a different new dress, y'know? Like, maybe it's the same exact one but I checked the closet and none of my clothes are there so I dunno how to tell if it is or isn't the same dress. It'd be kinda a waste to be a different dress, don't you think? Or I guess not really, or it depends, I dunno!

[ clearly the important topic of conversation here ]

[There she is. Looking at him, talking to them again. There's that smile. He feels a lifting on the inside to hear her again, in that part of him that had felt empty. And he dared to smile. He knew that he couldn't let Ikki see him looking sad.

He held the journal up to give both of them a better view. There was so much that could be said...]

W- we'll help you. Ikki... [He's actually getting to use that name again. He lets it hang in the air a moment] Where are you?

[...oh.

Her heart clenched and unclenched, and she had to swallow before she could speak.]

Don't worry, we'll find your clothes once we find you.

'Kay. I'm in Korra's house, where my room was, but it's not here. I mean, it is, but our things aren't. I mean, my box and things. [ But she's clearly walking out of there now, as she talks, because she had been planning to go outside anyway. ]

[ There's a very slight pause. ] Jinora's not in this house, so she's in the other one?

She's... she's at the other house, yeah. [Because Tenzin went home, too. Unless he also... but he can't confront that yet.]

Just - don't worry, we'll be right there! [He scrambles to scoop up his things, remembers he only brought his staff and his journal. He begins to scurry out while leaving the journal open.]

[Breathe.]

She's back in your room at our house. Don't worry, we still have the bunk beds up. Why don't you go in and say hi to Petunia? I'm sure he missed you too. We'll be there as soon as we can.

Prince Enrique Tenzin Ulberto Naoi Indigo Aang? Okay! I can do that! Are you out running errands? [ Detouring from her original plan to get her clothes, as starfish distraction is a go. ] Do you think he likes living here?

[Hearing her recite that beautifully absurd name made him smile and frown inwardly at the same time. He held the journal out in front of him and Katara as they stepped out of the Welcome Center, as if they were talking someone through defusing a bomb. He spoke almost automatically while doing all he can to look composed.]

Yes, we were running errands but nothing important. And yes, Petunia has been liking it here, but he also missed you... so much.

[Stop it Aang, you'll make her cry.

And Katara was torn for a moment - maybe she should let Aang go on ahead while she got Ikki's clothes. She looked away, blinking rapidly.]

[ It's easier for Ikki not to feel the need to cry. She wasn't the one who got left behind, after all. ...At least, not to her knowledge. ] Ventus said I wasn't gone long, and that some people don't remember when they go away - 'cept I knew that a bit 'cause you said - but I dunno, it's weird. [ Vague gestures with her hands, like that will suddenly explain things, although mostly Ikki just doesn't worry about things like details. ]

I'll be glad to see him, anyway. Has he eaten recently?

[And it helps him to not feel worse since she remembers them. He moves as fast as he can without leaving Katara behind - he realizes this'd be easier if he had mastered that new air scooter trick.]

It's been almost a month. [A very long month.] A-and yeah, he gets fed really often, Ikki! [...He thinks.]

[...no, you know what? She needs a minute.]

Jinora and I have been taking care of him - but I'll tell you what. Since we're in town, I'm going to go look for your clothes.

[She glanced at Aang.]

Aang can meet you out the house. Okay?

Okaaaay! [ Slight singsong, there, and she's pretty much at the other house by that point. They're not terribly far apart, after all. ] Can I make myself a snack when I get there?

[He glanced back at Katara with a silent nod before looking back at Ikki in the book.]

Sure, Ikki! It can be your... welcome back snack! So you can put together whatever you want. [He looks at Katara then but with a more permission-asking look. Surely this occasion is special enough for a temporary lift of the sugar restriction?]

[Katara nods, more automatically than not. She could probably think of worse things than having to tell Ikki that her father had gone, but they weren't immediately coming to mind.]

Wait for me. [She said to Aang, her gaze sober.] I'll be there soon. And I'll bring some of those fruit snacks.

The ones shaped like animals? [ There are so many types of fruit snacks. Not that Ikki would refuse any variety of them, as they pass for sugary snacks in her mind while they actually aren't. ]

Want me to make you something, too, grandpa? [ She's really not certain what to do. Probably she'll end up cutting up some fruit and maybe putting something cream-y or caramel-y on it if she can locate either sort of topping, since elaborate snacks would take too long. ]

[While Aang was trying to airbend the thought of Tenzin being gone from his mind. There was the chance that he had come back to... but Ikki would have mentioned if he arrived with her, and assuming anything was just bringing back a hope that would more likely be false.

He kept his mind on the snacks and the general presence of Ikki, which made his heart feel warmer. Also, it could possibly be visible through the feed that on Aang's right wrist was still the seashell bracelet that Ikki had given to him.]

I'd be honored. The Avatar princess making me a snack?

[Katara touched Aang's shoulder and spoke to the journal.]

See you soon, Ikki.

[And then she turned to find Ikki's clothes. And a moment or two to herself.]

[ Ikki was operating under the assumption that, for some inexplicable reason, her family had moved back into the original house. Jinora had been mentioned, and that had quelled any further questions, because she hadn't even thought to check about everyone else.

There was the familiar door, and she knew her way around the kitchen, propping the journal up on the counter. ] See you, Katara! [ No slip with Grandma, anymore. ]

Yeah, I'll make you something special! [ There wasn't a beat as Ikki continued talking to Aang, although she passed in and out of the journal's view. She paused on one of the trips, squinting at the screen, then leaned back with a grin. ] You're wearing my bracelet!

[ ...Speaking of which. ] Is my box here?

Thanks, Ikki. [He smiles and holds it up for the camera.] Yeah. I tried to never take it off since you gave it to me. And... yeah, I put it in my room. [But now that he didn't have to worry about Katara anymore...]

I'm gonna speed up, okay? So I can be there faster. [He'll be spinning up the air scooter and zooming towards the house, still holding the journal in one hand, so the camera will still be catching all the movement. Aang looks back down towards the journal from time to time, to make sure this isn't some illusion.]

Yep! I'll see you soon, grandpa. [ Oh, good. She's going to entirely drop out of view for a little bit to go and find that box, so hopefully it's in plain sight. If it is she'll retrieve it to the kitchen, and if not she'll just meander back in due time, all without much of a word, sorry Aang.

Luckily there are still bowls and things where small girls can reach them, so the fruit parfait-like creations have homes, and Ikki happily goes about throwing them together once she's back in the kitchen. ]

[It's not exactly in plain sight - it's in a drawer near his bed. But within a few minutes, the air scooter will be dissipating, and Aang will be rushing to the door of House 56, his heart pounding.

Am I really gonna see her again?]

[ Luckily for Ikki, she has few personal boundaries, so she did get that box. And, more to the point, her usual wrist accessory. And she managed to double-check all her miniature treasures, so that's all fine.

Then she just sort of. Stared. At her parfait. Because manners suggested waiting, but she'd finished, and she has a spoon, and it looked so edible.

So when Aang rushes in the spoon will be hastily hidden, and a singularly secretive look will be on Ikki's face. Nope, no eating going on up in here. ]
