[ Ikki crosses her arms on the table, leaning in as well. The seriousness of this pose is ruined by a smile and the fact that she's kicking her dangling legs, just a little and not hard. ]
He is! And he knew what the Super Celebratory Sister Surprise was! And it's really swirly! How'd it grow like that? [ Of course, Vivi has blue hair and Zoro has green hair...but those things seem normal in comparison to the swirly eyebrow. ]
[Vivi shakes her head.] Maybe we should ask him. Maybe he grows it like that on purpose! [Vivi touches the end of her own eyebrow, trying to figure out if it's possible to encourage it to grow in another direction.]
[She kicks her feet a little as well, too excited to sit still.] What do you think the Super Celebratory Sister Surprise is? [She's picturing and enormous tiered cake, piled high with swirls of frosting and artfully arranged candied almonds.]
[ The action is mirrored by Ikki, who touches both of her eyebrows, wondering if you just will it to happen or what. ] Maybe he eats lots of swirly foods? [ ...it seems as logical as anything else. ]
Oh! We-ell! [ Good question! Ikki's trying to figure out what it might be, too. It has to be something amazing. ] Maybe one of those huuuuuuuge layer cakes with all the colours and confetti and pretty frosting flowers and chocolate!
[Vivi ponders that.] What kinds of foods are swirly? Um. Some noodles, I guess. And cinnamon rolls! [She picks up her spoon, tapping it thoughtfully against her palm.]
[Ikki's cake description gets her imagination going in another direction.] Oooh! And maybe two candy sisters on the top of it, like on a wedding cake! And...candles!
Onions? [ They have...rings. Hmmm. This is tough. ]
And sparklers! [ The mental picture of the cake gets more and more complex as Vivi speaks, and Ikki has to add her own flair, too. ] And the candy sisters will be holding hands!
[Random aside, but Sanji's eyebrow was itching the entire time he was in the kitchen. Wonder what that's about. B|
In any case the man returns with a tray and two tall, neat glasses of sparkling lemonade, each garnished with a lemon and a strawberry, which he then places in front of the children]
Thank you, Sanji! [ Ikki echoes Vivi's thanks, having clapped when the lemonade appeared, so pretty and adult looking. It was like they really were customers - which, of course, Ikki thought they were. ]
[ She took a sip of the lemonade before taking the strawberry out, and nodded eagerly. ] This is really good! It - fizzes!
[Well, what the cake doesn't have is two wax figures holding hands. Sorry girls, even Sanji isn't that much of a miracle worker.
As for what it does have? Sprinkles. Plenty of them. Every shade of the rainbow, even. And Sanji shamelessly put his best decorations on display, the cake meticulously littered with tiny designs. Upon closer inspection, the girls might notice they're flowers made of frosting.
But really, all that pales to what's inside the two-layered cake, and Sanji isn't about to ruin the surprise. Instead he places the cake on top the table, bringing attention to the candles he situated there] I figured since this was a celebration, you two should at least make a wish!
[Vivi gasps when he brings in the cake. Even lacking the hand-holding sisters cake topper, it looks amazing. She exchanges a giddy glance with Ikki, then turns back to Sanji, clapping her hands together in delight.] It's sooo pretty! Thank you, Sanji!
[Oh, and what's this? He even put on candles so they could make a wish? Vivi turns back to Ikki.] Should we wish the same thing and share it?
[ All those sprinkles. Ikki gasps in tandem with Vivi, her eyes widening as she sights the Super Celebratory Sister Surprise. The bright, colorful little designs become frosting flowers when the cake is set between them and Ikki leans in to see them better.
And then she sees the candles. ] Hm...yep! But wishes have to be said in your head, so - we'll just wish for something at the same time!
[Once again, Ikki, you think of everything. Vivi gives the most enthusiastic of nods, and stands on her seat to get a better angle to blow out the candles. She reaches one hand across the table to take one of Ikki's hands.]
Are you ready? Let's close our eyes and make a wish! One...two...three! [And Vivi squeezes her eyes shut and wishes the first thing that comes to her--I wish for me and Ikki to always be best friends and sisters. Considering the current situation, it was a no-brainer.]
[ Ikki doesn't stand, but she leans forward, up on her knees on the bench. She reaches out to meet Vivi halfway, lacing their fingers together.
Right! [ She lets Vivi count, and shuts her eyes a half beat after Vivi, taking a deep breath as she makes her wish. Vivi's right - considering what they're about to eat, and what they're celebrating, it's a no-brainer. I wish for me and Vivi to always be best sister-friends. And then she blows out her candle, making certain to blow only so much as a normal person - i.e. not an airbender - might do.
[It didn't work?! Vivi leans closer and blows harder, eyes open this time so she can make sure of her aim. Still, her candle flickers out, then begins to burn again as if nothing happened. She exchanges a panicked look with Ikki.]
What if--does this mean our wishes won't come true?

See! He's really really nice! And he has a swirly eyebrow, just like I said. [As if Ikki might not believe that until she saw for herself.]
