It's a secret date? [ She's clearly thrilled to be let in on this. The best way to get her to keep a secret is to make her feel like she's being let in on one. ] What sort of secret date?? Are you taking her to the zoo?

It's something a little more social. They have that dance tonight, at your father's school.

Really? My cousin's going to it, too. I'm not old enough to go, though.
