[ This goes up fairly soon after Ikki's up and about; she's outside of the house, Soren in some of the shots, perched on top of Sokka's giant stone head. She's looking up at him for a second, the tail end of a comment caught before she glances back at her journal. ] - anyway, so it shouldn't take that long!

[ Oh, whoops. Ikki offers up a bright smile; this clearly isn't going to be about anything melancholy. Which is a change, considering her last two entries have been about people leaving. ] Hi, everyone! I have a few things to talk about, if you're not all too busy? I know there's lots of stuff going on because of Earth holidays...but this is kinda related to that! And if you don't celebrate any Earth holidays, this also involves you! Or if you like cookies, make sure you listen to all of this!!! And if you don't like cookies I dunno what's wrong with you, really. Cookies are DELICIOUS and the frosted kind are DOUBLE DELICIOUS.

Anyway, as a lot of you know Rapunzel and I run the art club, which is really super fun and has the best members ever so you should think about joining if you haven't already! We are having a meeting tomorrow, but it's just gonna be me there, 'cause Rapunzel's got a cold. Oh, but don't worry!! She's doing okay, she just needs rest. So if any members wanna come early to help me an' grandpa set up, that'd be super duper great! Also, we're still accepting pictures for Albert's calendar thing 'till the end of the month, so if you have any, please give 'em to me later!

We're also having a meeting the sixteenth, but it'll be at the bakery! And if you're not a member you should still listen up!! Since Rapunzel runs the bakery now, we've been thinking that maybe it could be fun to do something there - and we've been reading up on the whole Christmas thing, and cookies are involved, right?

So! On the sixteenth - that's a Sunday! - you can come into the bakery anytime you like and we'll have loads of different kinds of cookies in all kinds of shapes waiting to be frosted and decorated! You don't have to be a member to come in, and there'll be plenty for anyone who wants to join in the fun, so as long as you like cookies or even just like decorating 'em for other people, please stop by!! And if you wanna help make the cookies, we're working on that the fifteenth and throughout the day then, so.

I know not everyone's from the places with Christmas - I'm not - so if there's a holiday you celebrate around this time of year, when it starts to snow? Let us know if there's any sorts of animals or shapes or things that are important to your holidays! We'll try to make sure there're cookies in those shapes, 'kay? Or even if you just have a favourite shape or something, let me know here! I'll add it to a list and we'll work on it.

Aaaaand I think that's everything. Right? [ That's directed at Soren, who gives a bird-shrug back; Ikki's been chattering pretty fast and cheerfully, and she seems to have hit all the points she'd wanted to hit, so. ] 'Kay! Anyway, I'll end this here. Thanks for listening!

They're a different kind of trainer--based on their abundance of knowledge and experience, a Pokemon Connoisseur tastes one's skills and determines the capability between a trainer and their Pokemon. We can advise new Trainers on selecting their first Pokemon, or on their raising methods and even move choices for those who take an active part in battles...

[...Though, it's possible we may have to simplify this a little more, as it occurs to him that he's explaining all this to a kid.] ...In short, our job is to help a trainer and Pokemon on improving their relationships with one another so that they may become better friends.

[Think something like a marriage counselor...but for a person and their Pokemon rather than a husband and wife?]

[ That's...a lot of words, not that Ikki the chatterbox can really complain. ]

So - you're someone who'd help Soren and me become better friends somehow? Or like, give me tips on how to raise him? [ She's trying to make sure she has this straight. ]

That's right, in both regards. If you, or anyone else who has Pokemon for companions, ever want advice on raising them and becoming better friends, then I'll do my best to give the proper guidance on how to strengthen one's bonds with their Pokemon. That's my duty as a Pokemon Connoisseur.

I'm always willing to listen to advice! Especially 'cause I'm not from your world. I mean, Soren isn't either, but...

Oh? [hm, interesting--] I take it Soren is one of the Pokemon that was originally raised here in Luceti?

[Maybe it's a similar case like with Masaomi's Pikachu...]

Yep! He was born here a while ago. I'm his third trainer, I think.

Ah, I see. [Third trainer, huh...well, that helps confirm a slight hypothesis he had about whether or not Pokemon that were born here might not be able to return with their trainer back to their world, though that's a little sad to think about.]

Well, if you'd ever like to have an analysis done for you and Soren, I could still perform a suitable tasting nonetheless. Whether you're the first or third trainer, I'm sure the two of you could still make a good combination together too.

Oh!! That'd be super fun I think! Don't you think so, Soren? [ Soren is intrigued, but also has no idea what Cilan is on about. Why not, kiddo? ] Do we need to meet up with you somewhere?

Of course--most meetings like these are best conducted in person, I believe. We can meet when and wherever you'd like.

Oh, I'm free now, if you are!

Yes, of course...how does meeting up at the fountain in the plaza sound?

Sure! We'll be there in a few minutes!! See you then, Cilan.

[He'll immediately make his way over--it's not too far of a walk from where we currently were, though it's possible Ikki may in fact beat us there. Either way, you'll have one green-haired connoisseur (plus Pansage, who he's got out of it's pokeball with him at the moment) there to meet with her, looking around for any sign of her arrival.]

[ Ikki's fast, but she doesn't beat Cilan there. She has to inform her guardians of her activity, and double-check things with them, and then she's out the door only after she's been reminded of the rules. It's a little easier on said guardians that she now has Soren in tow, probably.

Soren and Ikki arrive in the best way possible: by flying. Sure, they could run it - well, Ikki would, Soren obviously wouldn't - but Ikki likes being in the air when she can be, and Soren does, too. Ikki slides off his back as he skims closer to the ground, a seamless drop that comes naturally with airbender but which would probably scare sensible adults.

Soren circles around a few more times before touching down beside her, preening. ] Hey! We didn't make you wait long, did we? I had to tell everyone where I was gonna be!

[Oh yeah--we're so used to kids leaving home at the age of ten, so what is children being responsible about telling people where they're going first...

He manages to keep from jumping at the sudden drop-in of Ikki, reckless as that could normally be for most kids as he just smiles.]

Ah, no, you didn't keep us waiting--your arrival had a timely and impressive taste to it. [The latter part in regards to their entrance by flying in, of course, as he turns his attention to the Swellow with her too.] So this must be Soren. I didn't say this before, but it's a pleasure to meet you as well!

[ Those are the Avatar house rules! The older teens are very good about role modeling.

Soren gives Cilan a bro nod. WHAT UP, MAN? Ikki giggles, but doesn't otherwise comment on the action. ] Yes! Soren, this is Cilan, who we came to see! Cilan, this is Soren, my partner.

[Oh, cute. Cilan's own Pokemon, Pansage, can be seen peering around from behind him, getting a look at them too as Cilan is speaking.]

It's nice to see that your Pokemon has a friendly taste to it, not to mention a unique flavor in terms of appearance. [Are those feathers sticking up on it meant to be like that? Pansage moves around to cling better to Cilan's arm, catching his attention again.] Oh, and I should introduce one of my partners here with me as well--this is Pansage!

[The green monkey Pokemon gives a wave as best as it can with a free hand from where it's clinging onto it's trainer.]

A taste? [ He didn't lick Soren or anything, so Ikki gives him a baffled look - although that filters into a smile at Pansage, especially since she's never seen one before. ] Hi!!! It's nice to meet you both!

[No no, we don't lick them to taste something literally. That would just be silly and slightly unhygienic...]

So, how long have you and Soren been living together so far, since you became it's third trainer?

His!!! [ Not it's! But after that chiding remark, Ikki's back to beaming. ] Umm, Chien left on October 4th, so...a bit over two months, right, Soren?

[~~ffff oops I thought I did type "his", way to go self OTL~~]

Right, I see. [After a slight pause of thought--] Judging from what I can tell so far, Soren already likes and has begun to develop an amount of trust in you. You must be taking care of him well--what do the two of you like to do together? [Because he has no idea if anyone has been teaching Ikki about Pokemon battles already, or if they thought she was too young/not interested in that.]

We like to play! And airbend - we practice together! [ It's. Actually helped with his flying-type moves, given the nature of that practice. ] We go flying a lot, and explore Luceti - although just the town, unless we're with grandpa or someone else. Oh, and we do training with Masaomi in the Battle Dome, and sometimes we'll watch other people's pokemon battles if we hear about them.

We do pretty much everything together? [ She glances at Soren, who's confirming this with a nod. Yeah, he takes care of this kid, HE'S AWESOME, what of it? ] He's my best friend! We knew one another before, because...Chien, he was a really good friend.

[Cilan listens to her talking about Soren, nodding along cheerfully--it's always wonderful listening to people talk about how much fun they love their Pokemon and the fun adventures and such they have with them.]

How nice! It sounds like you both have a lot of fun together! [He leans forward a little to get a better look at Soren.] Judging by the color and sheen of his feathers, Soren has a lively taste to him--he appears to be in good health as well. There's also a flavor of energy to him, so he's been exercising and keeping in shape, helped by your flying and training together.

[Speaking of which--] So, how has your training with Masaomi been going so far?

We do!! All lthe time. [ Seriously why is he talking about taste SHE DOES NOT GET IT. Soren's getting weirded out glances while Cilan is busy with him, which amuse him, although he. Also does not quite get it. Is this guy tasting his aura or something. Is that a personal space violation? ]

Pretty good! Sometimes we fail the tests and things, but we can always try again and learn from our mistakes. [ Soren's less happy about failures, but yeah, okay, they do always do better the next time. He's...learning to be better about not always winning, via his time with a more pacifistic partner. ] Most of it isn't just battles, but things like - obstacle courses, or missions to find things, or spotting pokemon together!

It's mostly a figure of speech, gosh...Cilan raises a slight eyebrow at the mention of tests, wondering what kind of tests Masaomi is having her do exactly, but once she explains towards the end, he gets what she means.]

Ah, I see! Those are good lessons to learn, especially as they could come into use here in Luceti. [As far as being able to avoid obstacles and looking for things goes. The latter might be a little difficult with how few Pokemon there really are here in Luceti, at least in comparison to how many there were in our world. ^^;;]
