[ Strange. Definitely very strange. Ikki knew the room, because it was hers, but it wasn't right. Things weren't there, or were cleaned away, and although she searched around for it, she couldn't find her box or her clothes or even her sister. No matter how hard she tried to think about it, she couldn't really make things mesh in her head.

...Oh well! Humming softly to herself, Ikki opens the journal, going to her favourite setting - video. She doesn't look overly worried, although she's more or less baffled - she fully expects someone will find her and explain things, or at least tell her where to go. ]

Jinoraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! D'you have my things? Or does someone else? 'Cause I can't find 'em. Or you, so I'm using this, although I dunno the chances of you reading this book instead of another book. [ Pouting. It would be so much easier if her sister weren't constantly buried in books. At least there's a very good chance some of her other family members will see this. At least, that's the entire plan - so far as Ikki plans anything. ]

Y'know, I could have really important news and you'd miss it 'cause I can't find you! I mean, I don't. I think. I mean, I guess I sorta do, but not ACTUALLY and if you'd read this you'd probably KNOW it already. I mean, I can probably think of some! But anyway my POINT is that now I'm gonna have to run over to the library 'cause that's probably where you are, and if you aren't I'm basically gonna have to run around everywhere instead 'cause maybe you decided to go sit and read on a bench but how do I know if you did, you know? And it's not like I know all the little places you could be or might be 'cause I'm not totally sure about that right now and anyway this is a bigger area to check than usual which is ANNOYING 'cause I don't know where you are for SURE and you might not be where I think you are and you might not even be where I don't think you are, and that gets CONFUSING.

[ Apparently that was all on one breath, because she has to pause to take another, still gesturing vaguely with her hands. ] Or! I guess I'll go check for my clothes first, 'cause the dress is nice an' all but at least that'd be some of my things down, I guess? An' that's on the way anyway, so I guess that works! But! If you're not here, then you might be there? I mean, 'cause where else would you sleep? [ She's not even really talking to her sister any longer, if she ever was. Hrm. ] 'Kay! So I'll go get my clothes, and then go back and check if you're at the other house. [ Aaaand that's a wrap. Video function ended. Feel free to hit her up in journals/on the path of House 58 > shops > House 56, if you want. ]

[ And post picking up her clothing, Ikki wanders back to her second household - which was the first, a little while back - to locate any of the relatives she hadn't managed to find to begin with. She does not actually knock on the door, but will just go inside and track down anyone who is there. And also probably take an apple or something to eat. ]

Vivi! [ Okay, impossible to contain the excitement on this one. ...Not that Ikki ever contains her excitement very well, but regardless Vivi gets a wide, cheerful smile. ]

It's good to see you, too! How're you? Have you had any more experiments? [ She's not sure if asking is okay or not. Vivi looks Vivi-like. ] Did you visit Petunia at all? He's our starfish, I don't think you got to meet him, buuuuuut Jinora and GranGran took care of him, so you can see him soon!

[Vivi gives a good-natured laugh.] No, no more experiments for me since you were last here. [And she shakes her head, though a little uncertain she's understood this part correctly.] Petuna? No, I didn't see...him. Though I did get a chance to ride on Appa with Aang-san.

[Which reminds her...] I still owe you a ride on Biri, if you're interested.

Oooh! How'd you like it? Appa's really cool, huh? And I can show you Petunia next time you're over! That's only his nickname, though.

[ Is that a rhetorical question? ] I am! I'm really really really interested!

It was a lot of fun! I know you told me sky bison are big, but he was even bigger than I expected! Even so, he's very gentle. I can tell he's an important friend to Aang-san, too.

[Ah, a nickname. That makes a little more sense now.] Oh? It did seem like an unusual name for a male starfish. What's his full name?

[Ikki's enthusiasm makes Vivi's smile even bigger.] I'm so glad to hear it. You're welcome to come over any time you'd like and we'll take a ride. We could even pack a picnic. Just let me know when you'd like to go!

Yep, he is! Back then, when grandpa was a kid, young airbenders would go and meet their sky bison at the temple they were raised at - the bison, not the airbenders - y'know? So they met when they were both very young, and grew up together! Since all our bison live at the temple, I've known all the ones there, though.

Oh! How about tomorrow, or next weekend?

Yep! I remember from before!

...Prince Enrique Tenzin...uh... [Vivi gives up with a laugh, shaking her head.] I'll just stick with Petunia, I think.

[Ikki's description of the airbender tradition makes Vivi smile.] That sounds a lot like Carue and I. I picked him out before he was hatched, when I was very young, and we've grown up together. [Of course, he wasn't with her here in Luceti, which was perhaps the hardest thing to adjust to. Even now, it feel strange to go along without Carue trailing her everywhere.] I wish you could meet him, too. Though I think you'll like Biri!

Should we plan for the weekend? Do you need to ask permission from Katara-san or anyone? [Not that Vivi expects her to object, but now that she's back to her normal age, it seems like the responsible thing to do.]

Yep, that's what most people use! [ She can say it pretty fast herself, but not everyone can. ]

I think so, too! And maybe Carue will come here someday? Do all people at your home get to pick Carues of their own?

Yep, this weekend will be fine for me! I just have to let Katara an' grandpa know, really, 'cause I'm allowed to spend time with the Straw Hats, which you're one of! [ You are on the Approved Play Date list, Vivi. Feel good. ]

He may. [Vivi can't say she hasn't secretly wished for it a time or two, though she's not sure she wants him to be subjected to being trapped here, either. Then again, it seems like the Malnosso aren't as interested in messing with pets, for some reason.]

Mm, no; I think I'm the only one. Carue's a special kind of duck. There aren't a lot of them. I'm very lucky to have him!

[Feels great!] What sort of lunch should we bring? I'm sure Sanji-san could make whatever you like, or maybe I could prepare some things...

Pets don't really have anything happen to them, huh? I think all of ours kept their memories during the last event, and stuff!

You should draw a picture of him next time, so I can see!

Hm-mm! [ Sanji's cooking is really good, but she didn't know Vivi could cook! ] I want to taste Alabasta food!

[Vivi idly wonders how you'd test whether their memory was intact or not with a pet starfish, but Ikki had voiced something similar to what she was already thinking.] It does seem that way, doesn't it? Maybe Carue wouldn't mind being here all that much. I do miss him. [She laughs softly.] A picture? I suppose I could try... I haven't done much drawing since I was younger. [Really, her skills never advanced all that much from when she was a child.]

Ah. Alabastan food? Let me see...you don't eat meat, am I remembering right? [She's pretty confident about that, but it doesn't hurt to check. It limits things a bit, but not that badly.] Are you all right with spicy food? There's a spicy noodle dish I could make. It's one of my favorites. [She might need to have Sanji write down the recipe for her, but she's fairly certain she can make it with something to guide her. She continues, really more musing to herself now:] And maybe some kushari?

Appa and Momo seemed to, anyway. They stayed here and - I dunno, they seemed to think we were all the ones acting weird, in their own ways, y'know? [ Ikki thought her child skills were amazing. She's pretty much not going to be not impressed ever. ] You should!

I don't! But I'll eat pretty much anything else. And yep, I love spicy food! Fire Nation food is fun to have! I've never had kushari, I don't think?

Momo? [Is that another sky bison?] I'm sorry; you probably mentioned them before, but I've forgotten some things... [Though in general, many of her memories of time spent with Ikki as a child are among the most distinct.]

Well...all right. I will!

Kushari is...well, it's a dish of rice, pasta, and lentils, with tomato sauce, garlic, and onions. Do you think you would like that? It's pretty popular in Alabasta. [Not exactly typical picnic fare, but if Ikki wants to try some Alabastan food, they can manage.]

He's our winged lemur! Appa's the sky bison. [ She doesn't mind telling Vivi again; Ikki's always explaining them to someone or another, given the way her world has...very, very little overlap with normal animals. ]

That sounds really good!! [ All stuff she can eat, and it's popular in Alabasta, which basically is what Ikki wanted to try most. ] Should I bring something from my home, too?

Ah, that's right. I still need to meet him. [Next time she'll have to visit Ikki at her house, she decides.]

Oh, yes; that would be wonderful, if it's not too much trouble! Do air nomads have many traditional dishes? [All vegetarian, obviously, but there are probably more common threads than that.]

He's really nice! You'll love him!

It wouldn't be any trouble! Hmm, we have lots, really. One of my favourites are momos, which are dumplings with vegetables inside!

[Momos, huh? Vivi chuckles softly at that, since she assumes the winged lemur must be named after that particular dish.]

They sound delicious! All right, it's settled then: we'll have a picnic of Alabastan and air nomad cuisine! We could decide beforehand where we'll eat, but it might be fun to just keep an eye out for a good spot from Biri's back... [She'll leave the final decision up to Ikki, but she suspects the girl will have no objections to picking their picnic spot on the fly.]

[ As it happens, he was! Aang's favourite dish. ]

Keeping an eye out sounds fun! Maybe we'll find some place no one else has ever been!!

It's possible! I'm sure there are quite a few places here that no one has explored.

[She laughs, and drops her voice to a more conspiratorial tone:] Maybe we can even find some treasure, or discover something!

[ Ikki's tone lowers to match, although she's talking faster from excitement and doesn't manage it quite as well as Vivi. ]

Like pirate explorers!

Exactly! You don't mind being an honorary pirate, do you?

[ There is no universe in which the answer to this would be anything other than: ]

I don't!!!!! Do I have to do the initiation you did, though? [ WATER FIGHTS, right? ...She vaguely remembers that conversation. ]

Hm. Clearly you'll have to go through an initiation, but it'll be a little different from Luffy-san's.

During our picnic?

[Vivi nods.] Mmhmm. I think that would be best.

[It'll also give her time to solidify exactly what the initiation will actually be. She has some vague ideas, but nothing certain. She raises one finger.] And it might go without saying, this is a secret pirate ritual, so you can't tell everyone about it, all right? Katara-san and Aang-kun should be fine, but use discretion.

[That part is just pure theatrics. A secret ritual is more exciting, after all.]

[ Ikki nods, wide eyed, before remembering they're on voice. ]

I promise not to tell anyone!
