Hi! This is Ikki. I'm writing this time. Since people keep asking about mommy and daddy, I drew pictures. And then some of people here who I met and my family here!

This is my family at home! That's me and my sister Jinora, and then Meelo is on Daddy's head, and Mommy and Daddy are holding Rohan. We're all at Air Temple Island there!

This is my family here! We're in a pink place because I wanted to use pink. It's me and Grandpa and Katara and Uncle Sokka and Aunt Toph and Uncle Roku and Uncle Zuko!

And this is everyone I met so far! It's Shikamaru who's super nice and cool and makes really really great shadows, and Nomi and Luke who are like an Avatar but not, and Chien and Soren, who don't bend air, and Vivi, who has the prettiest hair ever!

Also I got a swim suit and an apple and candy and soda and a room in our house, and it's the best best best best house ever!

The marines. They're sort of a combination police and soldier force for the World Government in my world. We fight for justice and arrest pirates. Protect the innocent, that sort of thing. [He's officially used to people not knowing what the marines are here.]

That sounds really cool! It's like the navy? My Uncle Bumi is in that!

Well, I got to meet my Grandpa, and he gave me his prayer beads and I'm learning airbending from him directly, and I've made lots of new friends and met people I'd never have a chance to meet otherwise, and learned about worlds I'd never learn about otherwise, and I've had chocolate and soda that tastes better than the kind at home, and I've learned animals can talk here which is neat, and I've got wings that're cute.

Yes, it's exactly like the navy. Is your uncle strong and a bender too?

[Grins listening to her.] Those certainly are a lot of good things. No wonder you enjoy it. The chocolate here is really better? [He's got just a bit of a sweet tooth too.]

Nope! He's strong and not a bender.

I never had chocolate at home, actually. We only had soda sometimes, if we went off the island or daddy brought some home. Mostly what we ate was things we grew in the greenhouses!

Sounds like a cool guy.

Oh? Sounds like pretty healthy living then. [He pities you small child. Healthy. Yuck.] What about ice cream?

Yep! He's my favourite [ only ] Uncle!!

It does? I guess it is! [ She nods after a second. ] Yep, we have ice cream. I mean, daddy brings us some, and we're allowed it a bit more than soda. And sometimes in the summer we'd make some shaved ice.

Is he around here?

Yeah? [Grins quietly.] I always preferred ice cream anyway. Although I seem to remember a water bender here being very good at shaved ice. Maybe she'll do that again next time we have a heat wave.

Nope. [ A small disappointment, but...well, he wasn't someone she got to see often, anyway. ]

Oh, Katara? I'll ask her!!

Oh well. It is pretty frustrating being stationed in one place so long.

He's not crying! [ Actual offended tone. Why would he be crying?! ] Those're his eyes!!!!

[ Oh right ] But yep! That's my GranGran!

Oh... [Damn, this is why he wasn't going to ask.] All right, so long as you're all having fun together. Is he here in Luceti?

Wo-ow! I think my family's been here a long time, too.

Yep! That's Uncle Sokka!

Yeah, they were here before I was, if I remember right.

Your grandfather is Uncle Sokka?

Prob'ly. I dunno the exact dates, 'cause I don't think they want to say.

Nope, Uncle Sokka is my uncle, 'cept I guess he's my Great Uncle. Grandpa is Grandpa Aang. But the person in the picture you thought was crying, by GranGran, that's Uncle Sokka.

Oh all right, I think I get it.

[This is almost as confusing as D bloodlines, but since they're generally all adopted he can just say "whatever" and be done with it.]

Wait. Katara's your Grangran?

Yep! But it makes her feel weird if I call her that, and anyway she's younger, so she's Katara.

[ It doesn't help that Ikki calls people who AREN'T blood related "aunt" and "uncle". ]

[That's okay, Smoker's got the same thing going being an "Uncle Smokey" to non-blood relatives. S'all good.]

Fair enough. You're pretty smart able to deal with all this so quickly.

We-ell, I don't think it's such a bad place. [ Family. Friends. She missed her family at home, but at home her grandfather was dead, as were some of her other family members here - and here she got to meet them, and speak with them. ]

It really isn't such a bad place no. [He's pretty sure they agreed on that reasonably so.]

But I meant being so displaced timeline-wise. You're taking meeting your grangran while she's younger quite well.

Oh! Well, she's still herself, but she's different, too. Katara is Katara, and I love her a lot. It's kinda fun to see her lots younger!

I can only imagine. As long as you're enjoying it here.

And I see you met the Princess Vivi too?

Yeah! Vivi is great! We're going to be sisters!

Oh? That's great! I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with that.

Yep! 'Cause I've never had a younger sister and she's never had a sister at all!
