Hi! This is Ikki. I'm writing this time. Since people keep asking about mommy and daddy, I drew pictures. And then some of people here who I met and my family here!

This is my family at home! That's me and my sister Jinora, and then Meelo is on Daddy's head, and Mommy and Daddy are holding Rohan. We're all at Air Temple Island there!

This is my family here! We're in a pink place because I wanted to use pink. It's me and Grandpa and Katara and Uncle Sokka and Aunt Toph and Uncle Roku and Uncle Zuko!

And this is everyone I met so far! It's Shikamaru who's super nice and cool and makes really really great shadows, and Nomi and Luke who are like an Avatar but not, and Chien and Soren, who don't bend air, and Vivi, who has the prettiest hair ever!

Also I got a swim suit and an apple and candy and soda and a room in our house, and it's the best best best best house ever!

G - Katara said they're interesting and nice and if I need something I can ask them if she's not there or you're not there or Uncle Sokka's not there or Uncle Roku's not there or Aunt Toph's not there or Uncle Zuko's not there [ SHE COULD GO ON ] 'cause they're nice and interesting.

I've only met a few of them so far, but they do seem nice! [He doesn't want to imagine a circumstance where they're all gone, leaving Ikki alone.] You can definitely trust Shikamaru and Luke, too.

Yep! And Nomi, right? We went and got cookies together, it was lots of fun. And Crys, too, she told me I can't get my journal wet 'cause I should take care of it.

Yeah! Nomi too! [A little awkward due to her time here being limited, but...] Cookies, huh? You really had some adventures when we weren't around! I don't think I've met Crys. Is she nice?

She says she can come out more than Luke can, when it's different. [ confiding tone. And then back to LOUD. ] Crys is Crystal! She has a friend called Xatee who is a Xatu, and can make psychic magic wands, and she says the animals in her world are called Pokemon, just like Chien's Soren who's a Swellow but whose name is just Soren.

[When she talks about Nomi and Luke, he nods as if accepting a secret.]

They both sound nice. I'll have to make friends with them too! So you've met Pokemon. They're really neat kinds of animals, right?

They're really super nice! And I've talked to lots of people, too, but I haven't met them all yet. But I'm gonna. [ kicking her legs at the table, since she slid back to sit normally. ] Yep! Pokemon are really cute and interesting, but they can't talk like us, 'cept Shikamaru says that the animals from here can talk like us and I can talk to them but that they can't talk as much as us 'cause it's not like they're speaking human exactly. [ STUFF AANG ALREADY KNOWS, PROBABLY, but Ikki recaps it anyway, cheerfully recounting her day(s). ]

[He gives a fond smile from across the table.]

You're really ambitious with friends. I like it! I'd like to hear about all the friends you make. [So he can make sure they're trustworthy... he feels really relieved that Tobi's apparently not around anymore, because he realizes there's no way he could keep up Shikamaru's charade if he had gone anywhere near Ikki.] And yeah... the animals here are pretty weird like that! But the Pokemon are really special in their own way.

[ hopefully her kicking feet don't get Grandpa. Lucky she's so small! ]

Ummm. [ Ikki looks thoughtful, trying to remember anyone else she didn't mention. ] Well - I talked to Jeb, and Smoker, and Lupin, and Rapunzel, and Yotsuba, and Pao-Lin, and Ven, and Raine! [ All said pretty fast, on one breath. ] And they are! Soren's my favourite but Xatee is my second favourite.

Wow! I'm friends with a bunch of those people already - like Lupin and Rapunzel and Ven! And Raine - she's the teacher at school and she's really nice.

I haven't heard of any of those Pokemon but they must be amazing. Maybe you should meet Linda someday. She's kind of a trickster, but she's real nice. She belongs to my friend Masaomi!

[ hand clap! She missed a name ~~because I suck~~ ] Ma-sa-o-mi! He's one, too! He made it so we were talking and no one could see! It was really smart! [ she's still impressed, okay. ]

[~~I assumed it was because of the filter.~~] Oh, so you have talked to him. He's pretty weird but he's nice and funny! He talked to you through a filter?

[ NOPE, THIS IS IKKI. ] Yep! I think he's a secret agent.

[He laughs.] Sure! Maybe he acts weird all the time as a cover.

[ what are these things you people call secrets, man ] I dunno! He seemed fun! I'll haveta ask him about Linda next time we talk.

Yeah, you should do that! I'm sure you'll be good friends.

There're lots of people from that world with Pokemon, huh?

It looks like it! But I think Masaomi's actually from a different world, and he got his Pokemon from one of the Pokemon people when she was just an egg.

So - some people with Pokemon aren't from that world?

Yeah. I guess they find other ways of getting Pokemon, like from the eggs of Pokemon that are already here.

So all Pokemon are born from eggs? [ FASCINATING. ]

As far as I know! I'm still kinda new to the whole Pokemon thing, so there's a lot about them that I don't know.

Maybe Chien knows! [ pause, as she remembers something else, unrelated ] Oh, right! Chien and Soren I are gonna go to lunch at the bakery tomorrow!

You are? That sounds nice. I don't really know them, but as long as you stay in the village and keep your journal with you, you should be fine. [Maybe he'll ask someone at the bakery to keep an eye on her. Isn't that where his new friend Madoka works?] But you should make sure it's okay with GranGran, too.

Chien's thirteen he thinks and Soren's a swellow! Chien's here in my drawing - see? - and he and Soren live in the top of a building and Chien's from the jungle, he says, and has these dark brown wings that are like really wet ground. He took me flying! [ she pauses, apparently considering divulging the next part, but ends up going on ] We're gonna practice our reading and writing then, 'cause he's learning how, so she shouldn't mind!
