Hi! This is Ikki. I'm writing this time. Since people keep asking about mommy and daddy, I drew pictures. And then some of people here who I met and my family here!

This is my family at home! That's me and my sister Jinora, and then Meelo is on Daddy's head, and Mommy and Daddy are holding Rohan. We're all at Air Temple Island there!

This is my family here! We're in a pink place because I wanted to use pink. It's me and Grandpa and Katara and Uncle Sokka and Aunt Toph and Uncle Roku and Uncle Zuko!

And this is everyone I met so far! It's Shikamaru who's super nice and cool and makes really really great shadows, and Nomi and Luke who are like an Avatar but not, and Chien and Soren, who don't bend air, and Vivi, who has the prettiest hair ever!

Also I got a swim suit and an apple and candy and soda and a room in our house, and it's the best best best best house ever!

[He'll pop into view for the moment as he leans back with something like a book in his hands, frowning at Soren, and sighing.]

He missed you too. And we're fine, I'm... Uh, just practicing something. You sure know a lot of people, kid.

[ Have a grin, Chien. ] What're you practicing? Is that a book? Are you reading? What're you reading?

Hmm. [ Ikki shrugs, clapping her hands together. ] Maybe, but I've still got lots more to meet! 'Sides, I'm sure you know more people than me!

None of your business! [He tosses away and shifts more into view, shoving Soren to the side a little. The other gives a squawk of protest before his trainer can respond.]

Probably not. I don't like people all that much, and I think it's a mutual feeling. You'll learn everyone's names just by running around the first week I'll bet.

[That's a lie by the way, he knows tons of people! He... just doesn't think he does until he sits down and thinks about it. Which he hasn't done.]

[ what wait what? only one reason he'd mind that. ] Was it a romance book? [ ...well ]

Why would it be mutual? You're super cool and nice and smart. I like you! And Soren's super fun and nice and funny! I'm sure lots of people like you, 'cause they'd be silly if they didn't.

[wow sorry actually he was opening his mouth to respond to that first question, because he's always been good with your questions and answering them and all, but you totally threw him off with your kindness.

Now he's just sort of. Awkward. Super cool and nice and smart. Lots of people might like him? He wouldn't just be kidding himself over that? That'd be nice.]

M... Maybe. [though he doesn't say to which she's free to take it as the romance option]

[ She completely assumes he's agreeing that it might be a romance book, because the second is just so much fact that it can't be "maybe".

Of course Ikki giggles about this. ] You read romances? Are you dating someone? D'you read ones with volcanoes? My sister read one of those a while ago, it ended sad, I think romances should be more like - like fun and less sacrifice-y.

I-I didn't mean that! And I wouldn't read romances even if I could-- I mean, wanted to! They sound stupid. Who'd toss someone they cared about into a volcano?

[Is what he's assuming, from the volcanoes and sacrifice-y bits.]

Well I wouldn't! But Jinora says you're supposed to toss yourself in. To stop a war? Or something. [ wait rewinding the message in her head a bit ] "Could"? Are you practicing reading? [ Ikki doesn't sound shocked or anything, she just peers around, and then drops to a whisper ] Sometimes I can't figure out what people are writing about [ ...like when they write in code or talk about other worlds ] so maybe I ought to practice too, huh?

[Ikki you are too precious he's going to make you his little sister or something.]

Guess so. A... Someone's teaching me, and said that I should try a little every day. It's kind of hard though. [Only to a small child would he admit this, since she's going through it too!] And tossing yourself into a volcano to stop a war is really stupid.

Right? I dunno why that would work. I guess maybe she was a princess or something though, so people were so sad they stopped. Or something. Anyway it doesn't matter I guess. [ She stops suddenly, lighting up, and claps her hands together. ] I know! D'you wanna write letters to one another? That'd be practice, right?

[Writing letters, huh? Well...]

That sounds... fun, I guess. But I... [Grrr. This is something worth being frustrated over, and he clenches his fists tight as he practically spits it out, Soren rubbing against him slightly.] I don't know how to write at all.

[ Ooooh. Ikki doesn't look that worried, just enlightened. ] D'you want to learn? Daddy gave us lessons every day at home, and I remember how he taught us. If not, I can just write to you to help practice, but if you want, we can learn and I can try to practice my handwriting, 'cause Daddy says I have to be more careful how it looks. [ She's failed to be more careful thus far. ]

[You are seriously his favorite person. You don't judge him for anything, Ikki, and he's forever grateful about that. So Chien calms down after a moment and nods, thinking. Only you, Ikki, only you.] It'd help reading too, if I could write I guess. We'll... We'll practice together.

[ What is there to judge? She really truly adores Chien and thinks he's her friend, so she's not worried about ~details~ like these! They can tackle this! ] Okay! We can make times to meet up, if you want! I dunno what things you do, but other than airbending practice with Grandpa and having to be here for meals, I can go places so long as I tell someone!

[For someone who's been judged since the day he was born, she is such a relief!] I train with Soren and practice my reading, but otherwise I don't do much. What about in the noon? We can eat and do that at the bakery or something. I'll bring Soren too, so he can learn to read.

I love the bakery!! That sounds good to me - we can do that any days you want! I can meet you tomorrow for sure.

Same here. We'll go every day unless something comes up, and... I'll tell you if something does. Okay?

'Kay! It's a promise! [ after a moment's thought, she holds her hand up, as she says that. ] And I'll tell you if something happens for me, too.

[He mimics her, nodding.] Good. I'll-- I'll be looking forward to tomorrow, then.

I'll be looking forward to it, too!!! We'll have the best time, I know it!

We'll see you tomorrow, then. [after a small wave and a trill from Soren, he'll be signing off. to prepare!]
